LDW Highlights

Blossoming Creativity: A Scented Takeover at Lisbon Design Week

The visitors are invited to step into a world where fragrance meets fine craftsmanship. As a creative studio dedicated to handcrafted aromatic candles and scented curiosities made right here in Portugal, they are turning the space into a sensory sanctuary for this special occasion. For this event, they have given carte blanche to five exceptional artists to explore and interpret the timeless theme of Flowers. The result? A collection of five unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that will be unveiled during their exclusive opening vernissage. They are honoured to host four talented ceramicists: Maud Téphany, Diana Barbosa, Aurelie Galligaris, and Carolina Andrade. Joining them is the multidisciplinary artist and founder of Casa Bohemia, Katia Coelho who will showcase a dialogue between her ceramic works and her intricate embroidered canvases.

To celebrate this collaboration, the studio will be completely transformed by a lush floral installation. Visitors will also have the exclusive opportunity to discover their Limited Edition floral aromatic candles, crafted specifically for the duration of the event.

Join them for a blooming celebration of Portuguese craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Casa Bohemia Algarve has set up its “creative laboratory” in a former Lisbon tavern, where the creators personally welcome the public. An unconventional creative studio where the tiled walls have become blank sheets for notes, in an aesthetic environment that blends raw wood and iron.

Katia and Aureliano, the creators, personally welcome visitors to their atelier, where they design and produce their collections of handcrafted pieces and scented candles. In this unconventional space, transformed into a creative studio, the tiled walls have become blank pages for notes, the tavern’s old kitchen has been repurposed as the production area for aromatic products, all within an aesthetic setting that blends raw wood and iron.

This “creative laboratory” of Casa Bohemia Algarve offers the possibility to refill Casa Bohemia candles, explore the brand’s complete collection—from the olfactory collection to unique ceramic pieces and other curiosities developed by the duo.
