LDW Highlights

During Lisbon Design Week 2026, Santa Clara 1728 opens its doors to present a curated exhibition of Malga ceramic, inviting visitors to experience contemporary Portuguese ceramics within the intimate atmosphere of a historic Lisbon home. The exhibition showcases handcrafted ceramic pieces by Malga, exploring the relationship between material, form, and everyday ritual. Rooted in traditional techniques yet interpreted through a contemporary design language, Malga’s work reflects a quiet dialogue between craft heritage and modern living. Each piece carries subtle traces of the handmade process, celebrating imperfection, tactility, and the beauty of use over time.

Rather than a conventional gallery display, the ceramics are integrated throughout Santa Clara 1728 — on tables, shelves, and in everyday settings. Visitors are invited to move slowly through the space, discovering how objects inhabit a home, interact with light and architecture, and contribute to a sense of calm and presence.

During the Week, the restaurant Solo invites guests to linger and enjoy a light lunch menu, presented on the ceramics displayed in the exhibition. Solo is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 12:30–15:30, offering a unique opportunity to combine contemporary ceramics with a relaxed culinary experience.

Surrounded by monuments, palaces and a lovely park with stunning views of the Tejo river is Santa Clara 1728 - our enchanting 18th century Lisbon property at Silent Living. "Its charm enchanted us and quickly inspired us to transform it into our city shelter, welcoming guests to our office, restaurants and charming suites. We renovated the building alongside our good friend and architect, Manuel Aires Mateus. His architectural style - a soft and serene conversation between elements and time - respected the building’s history, while introducing a modern elegance. The outcome is a light-filled peaceful sanctuary within the city, to welcome our guests and friends."
