‘Alma Mater’ — Arianna Bavuso / AB+AC

During Lisbon Design Week 2026, the Molteni&C showroom on Avenida da Liberdade hosts the presentation of Alma Mater, a limited-edition functional art collection designed by Arianna Bavuso, founder of AB+AC Architects.
AB+AC Architects is a multidisciplinary studio based in Lisbon, operating at the intersection of architecture, well-being, and neuro-architectural research. With Alma Mater, the studio transforms everyday gestures into conscious rituals, proposing a new way of inhabiting domestic space.

More than objects, the pieces function as spatial devices. Each one is conceived to influence posture, breath, light, and perception, activating a more attentive relationship between body and environment. The collection stems from the belief that if a space can generate tension, it can also foster regulation and balance.

Produced in stainless steel and hand-poured beeswax, the works explore the tension between strength and delicacy, permanence and ephemerality. The metal provides structure; the wax warms, scents, and gradually transforms over time. Together, they create a sensory choreography that invites deceleration.
