LDW Highlights
For the 2026 edition of Lisbon Design Week, Felipa Almeida presents the result of a five-year cycle marked by 11 thematic fairs held in her studio in Campo de Ourique. A journey celebrated through an exhibition bringing together around 60 artists who were part of this collective story, which also serves as the stage for the launch of the Book of Fairs born from the desire to counter the transience of the fairs, giving permanence to an ephemeral gesture and gathering memories, ideas, collaborations and moments that transformed them into a creative laboratory. The book is also a gesture of gratitude towards a generous community that embraced challenges, explored new territories, and, together, built a space for discovery and encounter.
Both the launch and the exhibition take place at the historic Farmácia Gomes, which was opened in 1934 and has been preserved in its original architecture. A former laboratory and a place of knowledge and practice, the venue provides the ideal setting to revisit this journey. Drawers, vitrines, and hidden corners house remaining pieces from the fairs, re-editions of works previously created, and new proposals developed from those same challenges. By bringing together publishing and curating, book and exhibition, the project celebrates not only the closing of a chapter but the energy it generated — a place of surprise, encounter and ongoing discovery.
During the last five years and twice a year she opened the doors of her studio in Campo de Ourique, to present thematic pop-ups for which she challenged artists to create unique pieces on a chosen theme
Since 2024 she edits and publishes books in collaboration with Estudio Alhures about Portuguese crafts and private folk art collections. She also just released a book about Portuguese Houses with History with Ana Anahory.
Felipa Almeida curates exhibitions, bespoke projects and collections, mostly challenging artists to create unique pieces on a specific theme.
