LDW Highlights
Fantastic Frank Lisbon x Alan Louis
For Lisbon Design Week 2026, Fantastic Frank Lisbon presents an exhibition of work by Alan Louis, an artist, designer and ceramicist born in Brittany (1992) and now based in Portugal. Working across furniture, collectible objects and ceramics, Louis approaches art and design as a language for emotion. Each piece is a narrative built through form, tension and material.
Created by hand in his studio in Ribatejo, Louis’ works are signed, numbered and produced in limited editions. His practice is rooted in traditional ceramic processes, from hand-drawing and sculpting to slow drying, sanding and high-temperature firing, while remaining open to other materials such as wood, metal and glass. The result is a body of work defined by duality: minimal silhouettes disrupted by unexpected details, organic contours balanced with sharp, protective gestures.
Presented within a Fantastic Frank Lisbon space, the exhibition is staged as a lived interior rather than a conventional gallery display. Visitors will experience Louis’ pieces in dialogue with architecture, light and atmosphere, revealing how objects can shape a room not only visually, but emotionally.
The presentation brings together a curated selection of furniture and sculptural objects, including new works introduced for Lisbon Design Week, offering a focused view into a practice where craftsmanship, poetry and restraint coexist with a quiet sense of provocation.
This is part of the “Spotlight section” of LDW26 itinerary.
