Kelvin Silva

Architecture
Kelvin Silva is a Portuguese–Angolan–Dutch architect and professional photographer born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. His African and European heritage deeply informs his perception of space, form, and the emotional resonance of design. He is the co-founder of OD/ Architects and the founder of OMAMBO, an architecture photography and filmmaking agency based in Basel, Switzerland. Over the past decade, his work has spanned from large-scale residential projects to the meticulous design of interiors and furniture.

Together with his partner, Anca Lungu, Kelvin has shaped OD/ Architects into a practice defined by its multicultural perspective. Their work explores how materials, textures, and spatial languages from different backgrounds can coexist, generating contemporary architecture rooted in cultural dialogue. Their project RATHER TWO, a widely published apartment design, stands as a statement of an approach that prioritizes human experience and cultural narrative over stylistic conventions.

At Lisbon Design Week 2026, Kelvin presents ONDA (“wave”), a collection of three furniture pieces inspired by his childhood memories of growing up by the sea across his three homelands. Crafted locally from solid walnut wood, the collection reflects a synthesis of memory, material, and form, inviting moments of pause through a balance of craftsmanship and contemporary expression.
