During Lisbon Design Week 2026, Sofia De=Francesco and MODULNOVA Flagship Store present
The Art of Hosting, an exhibition where contemporary design, craftsmanship, and material
exploration come together to transform everyday rituals into a sensory, sustainable, and poetic
experience of living.
Created by Sofia De=Francesco in collaboration with MODULNOVA Flagship Store for Lisbon
Design Week, The Art of Hosting is a living space where object, gesture, and materiality meet.
Bringing together the collections Paper Derm and Timeless Objects for the Modern Host, the
exhibition explores a new vision of living through refined geometries, tactile surfaces, and
handmade pieces that elevate everyday rituals.
Rooted in Sofia’s ongoing research into recycled materials and artisanal processes, including the
Paper Derm technique, the project transforms table, light, and object into elements of presence
and sharing. In her work, each piece moves between function and expression, inviting
contemplation and experience while creating an atmosphere that feels both intentional and deeply
human.
